Spring Statement 2026: the latest updates from Clayton & Brewill

Clayton & Brewill’s Spring Statement 2026 newsletter is now available to view online.

The Chancellor held the Spring Statement on 3 March 2026. The government has been keen to have only one tax event per year (the Budget) and so the Spring Statement was intended to provide an interim update on the economy and public finances. Whilst the Chancellor did meet the commitment not to make major tax announcements, there was plenty to say on the economy more generally.

In our newsletter we provide a summary of the report as well as an in-depth look into upcoming changes, some of which have been either announced or already implemented since the Autumn Budget 2025. These include:

  • Personal tax
  • Employment
  • Business tax
  • Capital taxes
